Dear Point Loma Little League Families,

It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost time to open registration for our spring 2024 season!  We’re just a few short days away from opening this Saturday, November 4, 2023.  In anticipation of registration opening, the board of directors and I thought it was important to inform you of a few changes you can expect to see when registering your player(s). 

Registration Fees

For the first time in nearly 10 years, we are increasing our registration fees for the upcoming 2024 season.  Over the years we’ve been fortunate to not increase registration fees despite rising operational costs year over year.  After careful consideration of our operational costs, overall growth as a league and continuous investments in much needed facility improvements, there is a need to adjust our registration fees accordingly.  

Snack Shack Commitment

At registration, you’ll also notice a Snack Shack deposit of $75 per player that is required …100% refundable after your Snack Shack volunteer service is completed.  The Snack Shack continues to be the heart and soul of PLLL by providing welcomed refreshments to our families, enabling a sense of community, and bringing in crucial revenue that helps run this special league we’ve all grown to love.  Without volunteers, there is no Snack Shack ...and without the Snack Shack, there is no league!    

In recent seasons, we’ve experienced significant challenges in volunteer staffing which has led to burnout and overloading of some volunteers as well as decreased availability of the Snack Shack.  Ultimately, this means fewer dollars to provide important equipment and opportunities for your player(s).

The intent is NOT to make more money from registration fees. We’d like nothing more than to return every deposit collected at registration, however, we want to encourage fulfillment of volunteer obligations so that we can serve the PLLL community to its fullest potential.  Upon completion of each Snack Shack shift the league will fully refund the collected deposit.

We encourage families to take advantage of early volunteer opportunities to fulfill your commitment in order to get refunded sooner and minimize any financial burden.  Thank you in advance for your understanding of this new policy and its overall intent.
