Hello Point Loma Little League Families.
We hope this finds you and your families healthy.
As you are aware, there are more and more activities and establishments opening up to our communities albeit with restrictions and limited capacities. We are working hard, within the confines of the District, City, and State, to bring PLLL baseball back to our community.
A quick update on where we are…
The District and the PL Executive Board have been meeting and working to draft a safety protocol; it will require final approval from the City prior to any official Little League play. While SD County has opened parks back up for team play, there are strict parameters for what we can and cannot do. Currently, this will allow teams to hold practices only (no games). Recently we surveyed managers and found that there are a reasonably high number of players who wish to return for a modified baseball season this summer though these numbers diminish in the lower divisions.
The League will be meeting this Saturday to review the safety protocol and determine feasibility of play across our divisions. We will send an update after receiving City approval of our plan which we hope to receive early next week.
